Doan was selected 7
th
overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft after winning two Memorial Cup Championships, and played one season with the club before the team relocated to Phoenix to become the Coyotes. He owns the franchise record for all-time goals, assists, points, and games played.
He played 21 NHL seasons and was Captain of the Coyotes for 13 years. Doan won the NHL’s Mark Messier Leadership Award in 2012, and NHL’s King Clancy Award for his contributions towards humanitarian causes in 2010.
Doan represented Canada on eight different occasions, helping Canada earn gold at two World Championships (2003 & 2007), gold at the World Cup of Hockey (2004), and three second place finishes at the World Championships.
This jersey was donated by the Arizona Coyotes in support of the Professional Hockey Players’ Association (PHPA) REDLINE program.
The PHPA is the certified, US National Labour Relations Board collective bargaining representative for all professional hockey players within the American Hockey League (AHL) and ECHL.
