Description:
This is a high quality tea caddy natsume made for tea ceremony by a prominent artisan using high quality materials.
The theme or design is "Tachi Bina Dolls" meaning "Standing Prince & Princes Dolls".
They are wearing costume for the noble family in Heian Period in Japan (794 - 1185).
And decorated with cherry blossoms as well.
The color of the background is dark brown.
At many families in Japan in spring time,
"Tachi Bina Dolls"
are presented in a family room to pray for health and happiness of females in the family.
This was made by
HAMASAKI Teihoh (浜崎貞鳳).
He was born and has been working in Wajima a.k.a. a mecca of Japanese lacquerware.
It is in excellent condition. No chips, cracks or marks. White (shining) parts on photographs are reflection of lightening i.e. not flaws, that happens because the surface of Japanese lacquerware is extremely smooth like a miller.
