This is a unique tea caddy Hira-Natsume
made by
SUZUKI Hyosaku (鈴木表朔) .
He is known as a topnotch Japanese lacquerware artist to produce highest class tea utensils in Kyoto.
The body was made of wood.
Interestingly, formed into a bamboo basket.
And coated with "urushi" (=Japanese lacquer) again and again.
Such a tea caddy is very rare.
So that, It should be a great item to be added into your collection and enjoy conversation at tea ceremony.
Condition:
It is in excellent condition. No chips, cracks or marks.
White (shining) parts on photographs are reflection of lightening i.e. not a blemish.
