This tea caddy
was made by Makie artist
NAKAMURA Kosai (中村湖彩 in Japanese)
who is famous for producing colorful Makie works using Japanese lacquerware.
The shape of this tea caddy is called Fubuki (雪吹棗 in Japanese) meaning snowstorm.
Its theme or pattern is "Taga-Sode" (誰袖 in Japanese) meaning an elbow part of a lady's Kimono (Japanese old costume). Hazes or clouds are depicted as well. This theme comes from Waka (=a short poem made 1,000 years old in Kyoto in Heian era).
It is in excellent condition. No chips, cracks or marks. White (shining) parts on photographs are reflection of lightening i.e. not flaw or blemish.
You may find a very faint yellow area (photo #8). During drawing process, a bit of yellow lacquer dropped there, the artist removed it, and yet faintly remained. So that, it is not
considered
a flow.
