Description:
This is a perfect example of natsume tea caddy which is loved by those who practice tea ceremony.
- It was made by an experienced topnotch artist
- Signed by a former Zen monk at Daitokuji Temple (a mecca for tea practitioners)
- Very simple (outside) and yet gorgeous (inside)
It was made of mulberry wood, which is often used to make high quality tea utensils.
The inside is covered by real gold foils.
It was made by an artist TSUKAMOTO Noriyoshi (塚本 規義) in Yamanaka
(photo #7 ~ 8).
Former Zen monk of Daitokuji Temple NORITANI Bunga (法谷 文雅) p
ut his Kao (traditional Japanese signature) at the back of the lid of the natsume and the wooden box (photo #6 & 7).
He also wrote (at the back of the wooden box).
- the given name of the artist Noriyoshi
(規義)
- this natsume is made by mulberry and the inside is covered by real gold foils
The natsume (as well as wooden box and paper box) are in perfect condition.
It looks like not used.
